Purpose

Ooser Fest C.I.C. celebrates regional folk culture, music, dance, literature, film, and storytelling across Dorchester and the wider Dorset area. Operating as a non-profit social enterprise, our mission is to bring people together, support local businesses, and raise the profile of Dorset’s heritage.

• Community Celebration & Festival Production: Producing a multi-venue folk festival in Dorchester. We host hands-on, interactive activities – including participatory music, dancing, workshops, and story sessions – designed for real-life fun, connecting residents to local lore and making Dorchester a recognised cultural destination.

• High-Street & Business Collaboration: Partnering with local independent pubs, shops, museums, and cinema operators to drive cross-promotional footfall, boost the local economy, and build supportive business networks.

• Social Connection & Inclusion: Bringing people together to tackle isolation and digital burnout. We offer open-access, free, or low-cost events so everyone in the community can take part regardless of background and income.

• Reinvesting in Dorset: Putting all surpluses directly back into future community festivals, creative projects, and local arts initiatives.
