1. Policy Purpose & Ownership Ooser Fest C.I.C. is dedicated to providing a safe environment for all participants, particularly children, young people, and adults at risk. This policy is owned by the Board of Directors, reviewed annually, and signed by the Board.

2. Partnership Alignment & Reporting Procedures

This policy complies with and signposts to the Pan-Dorset Safeguarding Children Partnership (PDSCP) procedures and the Dorset Safeguarding Adults Board (DSAB) guidelines. All staff, contractors, and volunteers must follow these reporting pathways:

• Immediate Danger: Call Emergency Services on 999.

• Children’s Safeguarding Concerns: Contact Dorset Children’s Advice and Duty Service (ChAD) on 01305 228866.

• Allegations Against Staff/Volunteers: Contact the Dorset Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) on 01305 221640.

• Adult Safeguarding Concerns: Contact Dorset Adult Social Care on 01305 221000.

3. Operational Scope & Duty of Care

• Parental Responsibility: Children attending daytime workshops, street performances, or parade activities must remain under the direct supervision of a parent, guardian, or responsible adult at all times.

• Partner Venues: Independent partner venues maintain legal responsibility for safeguarding within their licensed premises. C.I.C. oversight is restricted to festival-managed outdoor spaces.

• Recruitment & Training: Paid and unpaid staff undergo clear briefing protocols regarding professional conduct, reporting procedures, and safeguarding priorities prior to deployment.
